The Fruit and Nut Foundation set out for another remarkable harvest—this time at a stunning nectarine orchard in Madera, California. Thanks to the kindness of the farm owner, who generously allowed us to pick pre-harvest fruit, we collected an impressive 800 pounds of fresh, juicy nectarines to share with our community.

The orchard was a breathtaking sight, with rows of trees heavy with perfectly ripened nectarines. Our dedicated team worked diligently, hand-picking fruit that would have otherwise gone to waste. Despite the rising temperatures, everyone’s spirits remained high, motivated by the knowledge that this harvest would provide nourishment to those in need.

For this donation, we partnered once again with Martha’s Kitchen, a nonprofit known for its mission to deliver fresh, nutritious meals to underserved communities. Delivering 800 pounds of nectarines to their San Jose facility was a proud moment for our team. Their staff welcomed the fruit with open arms, expressing their gratitude for the chance to incorporate these nectarines into their meals.

This experience was a new one to our team - we had to deal with challenges like not harvesting rotten fruit and the sun rising as midday approached. In the end, this served as a rewarding and fulfilling experience for us where everyone grew both individually and collectively as a team.
